The North Central Electric Cooperative People Fund board came to the aid of Caring Hands Pregnancy and Parenting Support, which serves Seneca County.
With the $1,100 grant awarded by the People Fund, Caring Hands is able to provide education on sexual integrity, relationships, and parenting at the high school level for the Hopewell-Loudon School District for the 2018–2019 school year. “Having the opportunity to provide the CARE Program at Hopewell-Loudon gives us a way to proactively address problems we see daily at Caring Hands,” said Carolyn Bouillon, director of Caring Hands.
As a result of participating in the CARE Program, students are equipped with the tools to make the positive choices necessary to build healthy lives and futures, leading to a stronger community.
Caring Hands offers teens, women, and men who are facing issues related to an unplanned pregnancy a caring, comfortable, and safe environment to explore their options with compassionate, trained volunteers.
Volunteers answer questions in an honest, factual manner and provide information and resources to assist in making responsible choices.
Through a Learning Rewards program, Caring Hands provides formula, baby food, diapers, pull-ups, baby clothing, and other items that are needed to raise a child.
Caring Hands is located at 202 S. Main St., Fostoria, and can be reached at (419) 435-2273.
