People Fund issues 20 grants totaling nearly $35,000 in 2017 

The NCE People Fund Board of Trustees, appointed by the cooperative’s board of trustees, is named from throughout the North Central Electric service area. 
This board reviews and approves applications for assistance, based on need and funds available. Political issues or campaigns are not eligible for grants from the People Fund. Grants are given to organizations and individuals with significant need.
In 2017, the board ran the gamut in terms of grants, including funding for individual house fires, bookbinding equipment for a local school district, and fire pagers for volunteer departments.
