Due to the extreme cold, wind, and high demand for power, load control to reduce power use may be necessary through the entire week for members who have load control switches.

This is a result of high demand on the transmission system.

Should load control be necessary, the cooperative requests  members reduce power consumption during peak demand periods (6 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 10 p.m.).

Ways you can help:

  • Delay running the dishwasher, washing machine or clothes dryer to off-peak periods.
  • Delay taking showers or using hot water during peak demand periods.
  • Turn off unnecessary lights or appliances
  • Turn your thermostat down by 3 degrees during peak periods
