Maintenance Updates
Updated Nov. 18, 2009
The cooperative believes the cheapest form of maintenance is preventive maintenance.
The cooperative routinely does pole testing, tree-trimming and meter testing. Some of the maintenance is performed by North Central Electric crews and others are completed by contractors retained by the cooperative. Pole testing has been completed for 2009.
The cooperative is currently NOT testing meters as it plans to announce in the coming months a full deployment of automatic meter reading equipment starting in 2010.
Oberlander's Tree Service recently completed trimming trees in Loudon Township in Seneca County and now has crews working in Jackson and Reed townships in Seneca County.
North Central bucket trucks and derrick-digger vehicles are usually orange. Its pick-up trucks are usually silver. All cooperative vehicles have cooperative logos. Employees carry identification cards. The meter testing van is white.
Contractors will have magnetic North Central placards on their vehicles and carry a letter of introduction from the cooperative.
