North Central Electric's annual meeting is a highly anticipated event throughout the cooperative community. The neighbors meeting neighbors, family-style event includes a picnic dinner, vendors from throughout the cooperative service area, entertainment and a free health fair. The 2012 annual meeting drew a crowd of 1,350 people, including 680 member.
The main purpose for the annual meeting is to elect trustees to the nine-member board of trustees. Candidates seeking election to the board of trustees must file a petition with at least 25 signatures of members residing in their respective district. If more than two candidates file a petition, a district-wide mail-in/electronic election will be conducted. The two candidates with the most votes by mail/electronic ballot will have their names placed on the annual meeting ballot.
In addition to the board of trustee elections, members attending the annual meeting listen to various reports concerning the cooperative and its membership.
The 2013 annual meeting is scheduled for June 12 at the Seneca County Fairgrounds in Tiffin.
